How Often Does a Porta Potty Get Serviced?

The base rate gets the attention and the servicing schedule decides whether the unit is usable. They are not the same conversation, and a quote that only answers the first one is incomplete.

What weekly means

A standard service is a pump-out of the holding tank, a restock of paper and sanitizer, a wipe-down, and a fresh charge of deodorizer. Weekly is the industry default for a long-term rental and suits a unit used by a normal-sized crew.

When weekly is not enough

Tanks hold 60 to 70 gallons. A unit serving twenty people rather than eight fills roughly twice as fast, and the schedule has to follow usage rather than the calendar. Ask for twice-weekly where the crew is large, and expect to pay for it — it is cheaper than the alternative.

Events

A one-day event usually needs no service at all: delivered clean, collected after. Anything running multiple days needs servicing overnight between them, which has to be arranged in advance because it is not the default.

The comparison that matters

A cheaper monthly rate on fortnightly servicing is not cheaper. Work out the cost per service visit, not the cost per month, and the quotes line up properly.
